The H&M Sale — I Know My Way Around This Store, Here's What to Buy While It's Discounted
As Executive Editor of Livingetc, I'm something of an H&M sale expert with an eye for the chic but cheap. This is my pick of the best pieces marked down to elevate your home
For me, the H&M sale is one of the most anticipated of the year because, as a brand, it's really got its game on. In fact, I'd say that in the past few years, H&M Home has been the go-to place to score stylish but affordable homewares. So when the sale comes around, it's always worth checking in for stylish buys on a budget.
I tend to be drawn to H&M Home – sale or otherwise – by the home decor: mirrors, baskets, vases, candlesticks. However, the towels, table and bedlinen are great quality and great value, too. It'd be hard to argue that H&M doesn't have some modern classics under its belt — at one point, it seemed like you'd find the donut vase from its collection in almost any home you looked in. H&M is a brand with Scandi roots, so it treads a similar path to some more luxurious (read, expensive) design brands from that part of the world - think Ferm Living, Menu, Hay and Muuto - while remaining super accessible price-wise. Plus, they're not afraid to let you in on their design and manufacturing process, so you can stay informed, and be comfortable with, where the brand sources its products from.
Below, I've picked out my favorite pieces from the current sale, though if I've already convinced you to shop the whole H&M sale, you can jump straight through to their page. I'll keep this page updated as I keep an eye on all the other home sales, too. For me, though, these H&M Home deals are hard to beat.

H&M sale vases
Statement piece
Price: $25.99
Was: $42.99
I love an asymmetric shaped accessory, and the strong silhouette of this vase means it is just as good empty as with stems. A statement piece in glazed stoneware, it measures H11.75 x W11.5 x D2.5in. Also in light beige.
Softly sculptural
Price: $15.99
Was: $24.99
Pair this on-trend dusty rose-colored find with the black vase and you've got yourself an instant installation. Or choose both in beige for a serenely matched display. This circular ceramic vase measures H12.25 x W11.75 x D2.25in.
Warm minimalism
Price: $26.99
Was: $39.99
We've seen minimalists embrace green as a livelier neutral this year, warming to the color for its subtle natural warmth. This smaller glass vase is pleasingly homey yet contemporary. It measures H9.75 x W10.25 x 4.5in (at top).
H&M sale blankets and throws
Chic elegance
Price: $69.99
Was: $135
H&M is known for selling some of the best bedding at this end of the market. This king/queen quilted bedspread is so much more luxe than its new price suggests. Made in shiny, woven fabric with light padding, it's the perfect complement to gray bedroom ideas.
Luxe feel
Price: $18.99
Was: $29.99
Almost as soft as cashmere, chenille is perfect for people who like to wrap up (that's all of us, right?) but not spend out. Shown in dusty pink (that on-trend color again), this woven throw has a decorative fringe at the short sides and also comes in cream.
Super cozy
Price: $17.99
Was: $34.99
We all need a couch throw to keep on the back of a sofa and use at a moment's notice. This deep red, wool blend blanket is that. With a fringe at the short sides, it's got a relaxed, slubby finish that's the perfect contrast to sleek contemporary furniture.
H&M sale serveware
Elevated style
Price: $33.99
Was: $49.99
Marble is going nowhere as an interior design trend – its soft veining looks instantly luxe, and even introduced in accessories, it can make a kitchen or dining space feel elevated. This cake stand has a metal base and feet underneath. It measures H3.25 x D11in.
Surprisingly chic
Price: $9.99
Was: $20.99
Of course, you could dish up your toast on a plate. But why would you when you can serve it up on this chic glazed stoneware rack? Make this the season you embrace a long, lengthy, but – most importantly, stylish – breakfast. It measures H3.5 xW3.5 x L6.25in.
My favorite
Price: $21.99
Was: $42.99
As a baking fan, I'm drawn to the best dessert stands. My favorites are those that are handmade and not too showy. This glazed stoneware buy with asymmetric rim is just that. I love how its variegated coloring means no two are the same. It measures H3 x D10.5in.
H&M sale pillows
On-Trend
Price: $7.99
Was: $14.99
Deckchair stripes have been a micro-trend all year – they evoke joy and vacation vibes that I'm here for. This 20 x 20in pillow cover looks wonderful outside, but its cotton/recycled cotton makeup means it's really meant for indoors. Pair it with red and white decor for a smart, crisp look.
STAPLE
Price: $4.99
Was: $6.99
H&M is perfect for staple buys - affordable pieces that complete the look. And bold plains are having a bit of a moment. This 20 x 20in plain pillow cover comes in eight colors, from easy neutrals to bold, zingy primaries. Made in recycled cotton/cotton canvas. I love it with the stripe (left), too.
Classic geometrics
Price: $12.99
Was: $19.99
A classic print, this is the sort of pillow cover that would sit in the most high-end designer space. Pair with confidence in all-white schemes or match it with block-colored cushions, such as the orange one (left). Printed back and front, the cover measures 20 x 20in and is made in 100% cotton.
Does H&M have sales?
H&M has sales both in-store and online, and there is always usually an active sale page online, even though offerings can be sparse outside of classic sale periods. Though you can find great deals in the store, they can get chaotic at sale time and stock can run low store-to-store, so it's often better to simply visit the H&M Home Sale page online. If you're looking for fashion finds, too, go straight to the main H&M sale page, which lists all departments.
You'll also find that H&M Home offers discount periods on its site, often around 20%, at certain points in the year. This is usually billed as a member's offer, so you'll need to sign up to get the discounts (though it's free to do so).
Is H&M a cheap brand?
H&M is known for offering style-conscious and designer lookalike buys at affordable prices. As a regular buyer of products from H&M Home, I can say that I'm never disappointed in the quality, so while the prices feel very competitive with similar retailers — Zara Home's offering, for example, is a little more expensive — it doesn't feel like you're skimping on quality. I've bought everything from curtains and rugs to decor and bedding, and I can confidently say the quality holds up.

The one problem is that because H&M Home is so affordable, and in many places readily available, you may see a lot of people with the same thing as you. If you're worried about that, consider mixing high-low with your investment pieces, or choose the "basics" from H&M Home, like bedding, throws, pillows and anything made from marble and wood. Like a good white t-shirt, these are harder to identify as necessarily H&M Home, and will easily blend into a more eclectic mix of decor if you like to shop around.
Are H&M sales worth it?
H&M isn't expensive when you shop full price; however, its sale pieces are often half the price, which, if stock is good, makes it worthwhile hanging on for a great deal.
It's worthwhile signing up to the brand's loyalty programme, regardless. You get free shipping over $25, better discounts, points for purchases that you can redeem against future buys, as well as a 10% initial discount, and one for your birthday, too.
Is there a H&M Home Memorial Day sale?
H&M Home does tend to have a Memorial Day sale, but whether this is on specific products or a sitewide sale. With Memorial Day fast-approaching, we set our deal-hunting experts with the task of finding out what offers H&M Home will have during the weekend, so keep an eye out on this page for updates as and when we have them.
Is there an H&M Black Friday sale?
There are usually good discounts, often up to 50% off, around Black Friday for H&M. In 2023, discounts started to appear earlier in the season than in previous years, so in 2024, it's worth beginning to look out for sale prices from early October.
Is there an H&M Cyber Monday sale?
The H&M Black Friday sale usually extends through to Cyber Monday, though you may find there are slim pickings by then. However, there are still bargains to be had on staples, such as vases and pillow covers, with prices up to 50% off.
Are there H&M after Christmas sales?
H&M after Christmas sales are definitely worth checking out. This is usually when most home brands clear out their stock rooms to make way for spring/summer collections, so you can find good prices across the whole home range both before and after Christmas.
