This exquisite apartment in Mayfair is the definition of luxurious living – with an added twist of arthouse credentials. Not many modern homes around the world can boast having been both modelled and designed by an internationally renowned artist, but that's exactly what this Mayfair apartment offers.
The two-bedroom, two-reception space was originally designed by Faye Toogood, an acclaimed artist working across different disciplines, from sculpture to interior design and fashion.
Faye's works have been acquired for the permanent collections of institutions worldwide, including Philadelphia Museum of Art (opens in new tab), Dallas Museum of Art, High Museum of Art in Atlanta, Corning Museum of Glass in New York, the National Gallery of Victoria in Melbourne and the Fabergé Museum in St Petersburg.
Her style is sharply contemporary and alert to the creative potential to functional, everyday shapes. In this project, Faye had amplified the possibilities of a traditional London apartment by enhancing textures and opting for a dramatic, monochrome colour palette. And while some changes have been made to the original design, the apartment still retains many of its striking features.
Stark concrete and marble-effect walls provide a spectacular backdrop to an eclectic mix of traditional and modern furnishings; ornate accents are juxtaposed with clean, geometric lines and minimalist fixtures.
The overall effect is striking yet inviting, a design-led space that is fully ready to be lived in. The generously proportioned apartment features two bedrooms, two bathrooms, and two sitting rooms, and is on sale with Savills (opens in new tab).
