Explore a Georgian country mansion with a bowling alley and games room |

Over a hill and down a sweeping drive, and through open parkland filled with pheasants, this sprawling Georgian style country mansion stands proud.

Located in Chiddingfold, Surrey, the mansion sits in 30 acres of rolling parkland and is flanked by manicured lawns, landscaped gardens and fountains, giving a very traditional first impression.

But inside, this home has all the latest mod-cons, ranging from a cinema room, games room and bowling alley to a modern home gym, treatment room, hot tub, steam room and an indoor swimming pool designed by film set designers. Every one of the ten bedrooms has a ritzy en suite bathroom complete with rainfall shower, and outside there's a sun terrace, tennis courts, outdoor swimming pool and a lake.

Push open the front door (pictured top) and you'll find yourself in an enormous marble atrium, with a sweeping staircase that divides in both the left and right direction.

A few antique pieces and an aged mirror lend a slightly more traditional look.

The stairwell atrium floods the marble floors with natural light.

It's pretty spectacular.

But more on this home later. Adjacent to this main house is a second wing, in the same Georgian style, that's bolted onto the side of the house. This is where the fun happens.

Despite the classic exterior, inside you'll find a modern games room, with wrap-around glass staircase and glass mezzanine balcony.

There's a pool table, table tennis and shuffleboard to name a few, and there's a cosy lounge space too.

The lounge space features an open fire, that beautifully combines stone, brick and glass, blending old and new.

Next to this lounge corner is an entrance to a state-of-the-art bowling alley.

Two screens help players keep score.

Grafitti-inspired posters and classic bowling pins help to achieve an authentic bowling alley look.

This building also houses the heated indoor swimming pool,a grand Romanesque space that was created by film set designers. Here there's a hot tub too.

Meanwhile the glass staircase in the games room leads to a mezzanine floor of other rooms, with views down to the pool on the other side. A perfect spot for a home gym...

... As well as a steam room and a massage treatment room.

And if all that wasn't enough, there's a home cinema too, upholstered top to toe in an aubergine velvet.

Back in the main house, a his 'n' hers office sits just off the lobby.

Further inside, the modern kitchen features not one but three kitchen islands – one of which functions as a breakfast bar.

The open plan kitchen also hosts an informal dining space, with a farmhouse style dining table surrounded by upholstered dining chairs.

This space houses an informal lounge area too, with open fire.

Elsewhere, there's a second chef's kitchen, perfect for inviting caterers when the other space is being used for entertaining guests.

But despite the mod cons, most of the interiors are a modern take on traditional luxury, and feature a classic country-style look.

Modern touches are woven in to the classic country setting, like the modern wallpaper and pendant lights in the formal dining room.

Our favourite is perhaps this cloakroom, which combines the original sash window, marble floor and cornicing with a modern freestanding basin, and an eye catching copper water spout that comes down from the ceiling.

Upstairs, the ten bedrooms combine traditional features like fireplaces and large sash windows with all the modern amenities, including every en-suite with a rainfall shower and freestanding bath.

In one of the bedrooms, a classic scheme contrasts against the exposed glass walls of the ensuite.

The dressing room features mirrored and smart, padded doors.

This particular dressing room opens through to one of the bathrooms, with a stone bath, TV (for watching Netflix from the bubbles) and gorgeous views of the manicured gardens.

Finally, outside, there's a lake, tennis courts, and oodles of gardens to explore.

At the back of the house, the indoor pool area opens up onto a large patio with sun loungers.
