SEE THE STRIKING DEBUT KITCHEN FROM CHARLIE SMALLBONE’S LEDBURY STUDIO

The Metallics Collection kitchen has made it to the top of our wishlist.

You’d think that after founding iconic furniture brand Smallbone of Devizes in 1981, Charlie Smallbone would be content to kick back and relax a little, but nothing could be further from the truth.

Instead, after pushing the boundaries of kitchen design for more than 40 years, he’s taking on his latest challenge – that of creating a practical kitchen while harnessing the beauty of original materials.

All of which has culminated in new company Ledbury Studio. Its debut design, The Metallics Collection, is nothing short of stunning.

Inspired by a kitchen Charlie originally created for a display at the RHS Chelsea Flower Shower 2018, traditional joinery and details, such as delicate Georgian-style cockbeading, sit at its heart of the design, yet they’re teamed with contemporary touches.

These include minimal brass door frames, illuminated smoky glass display units, individually aged copper door panels – each with their own unique dramatic verdigris pattern – black-stained ash cabinetry and marble worktops and splashbacks.

Located just a stone’s throw from where Charlie launched the first Smallbone showroom, Ledbury Studio’s new showroom opens in Notting Hill mid-May with the Metallics Collection as its centrepiece.

Kitchens from Ledbury Studio start from £50,000.

Find Ledbury Studio‘s showroom at 4b Ledbury Mews North, London W11 2AF.
