Limited-edition art rugs from Ikea

Eyes down for floor-level artworks from designers including creative director of Louis Vuitton, Virgil Abloh.

Still only hanging art on the wall? Treat your feet to a slice of culture with Ikea‘s range of show-stopping limited-edition rugs created by eight leading designers.

Launching this month as part of its 2019 Art Event collection, the woven rugs include the highly anticipated “Keep Off” slogan rug designed by Virgil Abloh, creative director of Louis Vuitton.

The rug is also a sneak preview of his wider homewares range launching at Ikea later this year, so get ready to form an orderly queue.Other designers include Chiaozza, Craig Green, Misaki Kawai, Seulgi Lee, Noah Lyon, Filip Pagowski, and Supakitch, who have worked with Ikea’s design team to create the innovative range by drawing on an eclectic mix of tapestry art, handicraft, avantgarde fashion, street culture themes and modern design, using wool and other natural materials.

In addition, expert craftspeople from India and Egypt were commissioned to help make the collection, allowing Ikea and the designers to bring their woven vision to life.

A contemporary approach to traditional art, each visually impactful rug is versatile enough to be displayed not just on the floor, but anywhere in the home.

Try hanging your favourite rug from your ceiling, or displaying in a glass box.

Virgil Abloh’s “Keep Off” rug will be sold online only.

The limited-edition collection of woven artworks start from just £140 and are available while stocks last in-store and online.
