A Victorian terrace gets new life thanks to an injection of light and colour

THE PROPERTY

A four-storey Victorian terrace in southwest London. The lower-ground floor has an en-suite bedroom and a cloakroom/utility room, plus an open-plan kitchen-diner, leading on to the garden. On the ground floor is a reception room and study. The first floor has a master bedroom with an en suite and dressing room, plus a bathroom. There are two bedrooms on the top floor.

LIVING ROOM

If the kitchen is known for being the heart of the home, then this room is its soul.

Get the look The sideboard was commissioned by Greg from upcycling brand Muck N Brass. Its monochrome palm tree wallpaper design is from Cole & Son. This pendant light is from Made.com.

The gallery wall features a collection of favourite pieces, accumulated over the years.

Get the look The Glitter Kiss print and framed figurine are from Rockett St George. The Al Sol oil painting is by Argentinian artist Valeria Cardenas from Catharine Miller at the Hollywood Road Gallery. The lamp base was a gift from Nick’s mum. The flamingo lamp shade is from Wolf & Badger.

KITCHEN

The spacious kitchen-diner is illuminated with skylights. The units were shaped with cut-out doors to wrap around the ceiling beams.

Get the look The lower cupboards are painted in Stiffkey Blue estate emulsion by Farrow & Ball and the wall units and walls are in Cotton V architect’s eggshell from Paint & Paper Library. The units are from DIY Kitchens. The bar stools are from French Connection Home.

DINING AREA

A light-up artwork by Mario Durski adds a fun and playful touch to this dining space. The blue suede chairs were snapped up at an office clearance for £20 each.

Get the look Greg commissioned the neon Love and Adventure artwork from Mario Durski. The extending dining table is from Ikea. The console table is from French Connection Home.

MASTER BEDROOM

This dramatic scheme with dark walls is lifted with pastel pinks and touches of gold. A velvet upholstered headboard and cosy sheepskin add instant texture.

Get the look: The walls are painted in Off-Black estate emulsion by Farrow & Ball. The bedside lamp is from Blanc d’Ivoire and was a gift. The bed is from Sofa.com. The pineapple cushion is from Wolf & Badger. The bedside table is from DI Designs. The knobs were replaced with cicada handles from Etsy.

An oversized black and white photo print creates a striking focal point, and complements the exotic patterned sideboard.

MASTER ENSUITE

Flat matt metro tiles, dark grouting and black taps are offset by the white walls help to create an industrial feel. To smarten it up, extra-large tiles in a herringbone pattern were used.

Get the look The tiles are from Tons of Tiles. The taps are from homary.com. The bath mat is from Urban Outfitters.

A metal framed mirror, industrial-style tap and a vanity unit that’s seemingly on wheels pulls together the industrial theme.
