But think again. The illustrious fashion designer has just collaborated with sports brand, Puma on an inaugural capsule collection of sportswear for men and women.

The unisex suede sneakers - an homage to the classic Puma style launched 50 years ago - feature Kaiser Karl's playful self-styled caricatures (one of his lesser-known talents - turns out the fashion designer is also a talented caricaturist).
Based on Lagerfeld's signature suited and booted look - tuxedo jacket, high white collar, tie and sunglasses in a chic monochrome palette - the sneakers blend Parisian sophistication with an urban edge for slick street style with a smile.
Marking 50 years since the original Suede Classic, the Karl sneaker forms part of PUMA's “Suede 50” program of celebrations and comes in reverse monochrome options, white on black or black on white and detachable trims.
Originally invited to design the shoe, the Lagerfeld project grew to include a 13 piece collection of sportswear that includes hoodies, sweatpants, t-shirts and backpacks and fuses both brands iconic style status.As the fashion designer once said 'When I was younger, I wanted to become a caricaturist, now I've become a caricature'.
Well Kaiser Karl sure knows how to work it and we're pretty sure Choupette, his famous feline friend, would approve. We're hoping for a range of chic-chi pet beds and accessories next, so if it happens, you heard it here first.
