First look: Athena Calderone's new modern home decor collection
Livingetc favourite Athena Calderone's new homeware line is as beautiful as you'd expect

Ahhh, Athena Calderone, how many ways does Livingetc love you? As it happens, plenty.
The American designer/curator/blogger/polymath and influencer in the truest sense of the word has been on over cover not once, but twice. She's an influencer not because she does paid content on her much-adored Instagram, but because her clever eye for placement of beautiful objets, her understanding of space and negative scale, and her take on modern home decor really does influence how we think about contemporary design.
When Athena appeared on the Livingetc podcast in September, she talked about her tireless passion for sourcing, how she'll be on the internet for hours and hours scouring for the perfect lamp for a space.
So, you could do that too. Or you could simply invest the pieces she has designed for The Wooden Palate and Beau Rush Ceramics, making up a capsule collection that neatly encapsulates her signature style.
Like everything in Athena Calderone's Brooklyn home this large footed bowl has a careworn feel, a handmade vibe that feels like it could have been picked up on summer holiday in Greece.
Available in three finishes - Natural Eucalyptus, White Eucalyptus, and Ebonized Eucalyptus - this bath tray as designed with the idea that you'd sink back into a bath, soaking in relaxing bath salts, and use it to prop up a candle, book and glass of wine. How inviting is that?
More soothing wonderment comes from this small footed bowl, originally conceived as a place to burn palo santo, it could also be a trinket bowl.
As with everything Athena creates, it feels considered and luxe, rich and satisfying, a treasured item you'd love to have on display.
