LIVING ROOM
This three-bedroom apartment is one of five created during the conversion of a 1910 waterside villa on the island of Lidingö. At more than 1,000 square metres, there was plenty of space for the grand residence to be divided into more manageable modern homes while retaining the features that make it unique.
On skinny legs, the furniture in this room seems to float above the floor, bringing a sense of weightlessness to the lofty space.
LIBRARY
The pink rug brings a shot of vibrancy to the otherwise monochromatic palette.
DINING ROOM
The table is massive, about 3.6 metres, but the scale suits the space. The rug createsa central dining area, while sofas and seating provide natural breakout zones around the edges of the room.

New velvet cushions add the comfort factor to this vintage sofa.
KITCHEN
The kitchen is deliberately created with a toned-down palette to make the most of details such as original tiles.
These portraits were bought for next to nothing because of their condition, but they add a rustic-luxe, lived-in touch.
BEDROOM
The bedroom has a hotel feel, thanks to a plush rug, upholstered bed and fitted wardrobes.
Repainting the cabinets and putting up new wallpaper was all it took to transform the bedroom and en suite and give it the hotel look.
BATHROOM
Repainting the bathroom cabinets in a pale grey was an easy fix to help showcasethe beauty of the marble surface and create a serene, spa-like feel.
