Peek inside Kate Moss’s bathroom
Kate Moss's bathroom in her Cotswold home oozes chic country style

Bursting with curiosities and colour, the master bathroom in Kate Moss’ Cotswolds home is grandly conceived yet full of home comforts. Seeking to refresh rather than completely overhaul, Kate retained some existing fittings and, having
used Drummonds in her London home, she returned to the British manufacturer for new taps, sanitaryware and accessories. ‘Drummonds produce beautiful pieces that allow luxury and escapism,’ she says.
To avoid disruptive plumbing work, Kate stuck to the original layout, which is centred on an antique Victorian bath painted in a dusky pink – Farrow & Ball’s Peignoir is similar. The Double Lowther vanity basin suite may be new, but its elegant design takes references from that era. The unlacquered brass finish of the washstand and taps will naturally patinate with age, helping new and old to gracefully merge.
With a soaring ceiling and a 6x5m footprint, there is ample space for free-standing furniture. Preferring antique pieces over new, Kate has easily accommodated a wardrobe, sofa and two mirrored console tables. ‘Introducing antique furniture is a great way to soften the hard surfaces of bathroom fittings,’ says Drummonds’ creative director James Lentaigne.
The green and pink palette Kate chose is as classically elegant as the trad fittings. The wide stripes are hand-painted, not a wallpaper.
Two shades of green are separated by a slim yellow line that’s deliberately imperfect for a painterly feel. Against this soothing backdrop, Drummonds’ Green Verde Guatemala marble stands proud, with this deeper green echoed on the hand-painted wardrobe.
Many of the finishing touches are personal mementos from Kate’s travels and career. A gallery wall of black-and-white photos, many gifted by the photographers, sits above the vintage chesterfield, for example. In every direction there is something to delight, but the overall effect is beautifully balanced and restful. ‘My bathroom in the country is my favourite bathroom in the world. It’s my haven,’ enthuses Kate. We can totally see why.
Antique furniture brings character and comfort. Put together, the elements create a calm and tranquil space that offers a retreat from busy city life.
SEE KATE'S LONDON STYLE
Want to see what Kate Moss's bathroom in her London home looks like?
We've caught a glimpse, thanks to her new gorgeous wallpaper collaboration with de Gournay.
She has joined forces with the prestigious brand to create ‘Anemones in Light’, a beautiful chinoiserie wallcovering, now part of the design house’s permanent collection.
And where better to show off its lovely pattern than in the fashion icon’s Primrose Hill home.
The Art Deco-inspired masterpiece, made in custom Xuan paper, displays large scale hand-painted Anemones, a symbol of luck – according to Greek mythology.
The intricate flowers, alongside shards of light hand-gilded in sterling silver metal leaf, stand out against the ethereal background. The backdrop is painted in “Dusk”, the supermodel’s favourite time of the day.
It makes a striking display in her private bathroom, where it complements a chrome and marble double sink vanity basin suite and gorgeous roll-top bath.
The gorgeous Double Lowther vanity basin suite is from Drummonds, and fits perfectly in this glamorous and romantic ensuite, with the back veins in the white marble echoing with the flowers’ long stems. The chrome finish also blends in beautifully with the silver-tinted wallpaper and the embroidered curtains.
