All about me

I'm a journalist and author that's been writing about food, interiors, wellness and lifestyle for the UK’s biggest brands in a career spanning over 15 years. I began as part of the launch team on Grazia, then spent five years on Sunday Times Style before taking over the lifestyle section of Red Magazine and becoming Content Director at ELLE Decoration. I'm now the Executive Editor at LivingEtc and Homes and Gardens, and contribute to magazines and newspapers such as the Guardian, ES Magazine, Delicious, Olive, and Waitrose Health. My first book, The Herb and Flower Cookbook, was published in 2014 and won a Gourmand Award; my second book, Herbs and Flowers: A Growing Guide was released in 2017.

My specialist subjects

Having interviewed every food celebrity from Jamie Oliver to Nigella to Ottolenghi, I understand how people like to cook, and know my way around even the most unusual of ingredients lists. My recipes have appeared in The Times, The Telegraph, Stylist, Red, Olive and Hello, and my extensive collection of over 200 cookbooks is very well thumbed. I have also designed two sofas for Sofa Workshop, and know what makes a comfortable, cosy living room.

My favourite places to shop

I’m a big fan of the online shop Rose and Grey, whose vintage aesthetic feels both homely and smart, a clever curation of affordable home accessories.

The designers that inspire me

I love how Lee Broom constantly pushes the design envelope, coming up with new ideas and collections that feel both innovative and different, but also very much like they’re part of his work. His talent for reinvention – whilst also managing to stay true to himself – is second to none. Plus I really do love all of his work.

My decorating style

Art Deco meets mid century modern, with a lot of brass, marble and Scandi shapes.
