Known for its luxe ceramic floor and wall tiles, the Italian wonder-brand Iris Ceramica has launched four new collections with Diesel Living.

The Liquid Stone collection, pictured above, takes its inspiration from the magical genesis of rocks. Its compacted textured surface changes softly in the light, shadow playing a huge part in its atmospheric beauty.

'We've seen a real return to the trend for grey living room walls,' says Livingetc's editor Pip McCormac. 'They're comforting and familiar, which feels right for now. Add in the smooth grooves of these tiles from Iris Ceramica and you have a space that feels both chic and softly gentle at the same time.'

The City Lights collection, above, features eight different colours and is inspired by the kaleidoscope of light that comes from a cityscape at night. Though think relaxing twinkles on the horizon, rather than blaring billboards - these wall tiles are particularly glamorous and work well in a living room

Meanwhile, the Alurock collection brings an industrial vibe, and despite being made from ceramic, manages to mimic the look and feel of metal. Use as a bathroom wall tile for an ultra-modern, yet still serenely spa-like, aesthetic.

And this fourth collection, FreeHand, created by Iris Ceramica independently of Diesel, comes in soft, waxy pastels, its subtle shine creating an uplifting pop of colour in a kitchen.  It is the perfect addition to a scheme at a time when kitchen diners are truly becoming the heart of the home again, bringing warmth to this homely area.
