Dear Caroline,

Inspired by your brief, I have curated your personalised sofa edit with a selection of timeless yet characterful designs that can beautifully achieve the mid-century modern, maximalist, and traditional aesthetic you’re drawn to. With the right styling, layering, and accessories, each option can lean into those styles while still feeling classic and versatile for years to come.

I’ve included a mix of different silhouettes and dimensions with a particular focus on corner sofas that will complement the scale and proportions of your large Edwardian living room and its high ceilings. As the room is currently a blank canvas, I wanted to present options that feel adaptable and easy to build around as the space evolves.

Comfort was a huge priority throughout the selection process, so I focused on sofas with a relaxed, squashy, sink-in feel perfect for lounging and slouching, while still maintaining a refined overall look. I also tried to prioritise high-performance and durable fabrics where possible, as these are ideal for everyday living and require less maintenance over time.

I also kept in mind your future plans to add an oversized armchair/loveseat and ottoman, so the pieces selected should work beautifully as part of a larger, layered seating arrangement later on.

Hope you enjoy the edit, and I can’t wait to hear which pieces stand out to you most!

Warmly,

Iokasti
