Curated Finds for Joanna — Bookcase
Smart storage solutions curated to maximise space, hide the unwanted door, and bring effortless style to your Spanish apartment.
Dear Joanna,
You have done such a beautiful job with the renovation. The apartment already feels so charming, and you have created a lovely foundation to build on.
I’ve curated a personalized edit with a few storage options that could work well to block the door while also adding much-needed clothes storage space. It is quite a challenge to find ready-made pieces in the exact dimensions you are after, so I would also suggest considering a custom-built solution if you would like the most precise and seamless result.
That said, I have found three affordable options that I think could work really well for the space and still feel practical and stylish.
I would love to hear your thoughts once you’ve had a look, and see which direction feels best for you and the apartment.
Warmly,
Iokasti
First option is this IKEA PAX wardrobe, which I think could be a really smart solution for the space. The mirrored sliding doors would help open up the apartment beautifully, making it feel bigger, brighter, and lighter straight away. It also gives you practical hidden storage for clothes without the room feeling heavy or overcrowded. I like that the sliding doors save space too, which is so important in a small apartment. Overall, it feels clean, functional, and a great affordable option.
This is another great affordable option, and I really like the warmer oak finish for your apartment. It brings a softer, more natural feel to the space while still offering plenty of practical storage. I also like that it feels a little more decorative than a plain white wardrobe, so it adds character while still solving the problem of blocking the door neatly. It is a smart balance of style and function, and could work really well with the relaxed Spanish setting.
This is a bolder option, and I really like it for bringing more depth and character into the space. The darker color gives it a richer, more elevated feel, and it would make the storage look far more intentional, almost like a built-in feature rather than simply covering a door. It is a great choice if you want the apartment to feel a little moodier while still being practical.
