SNUGGLE UP
The snowdrops may be appearing but we still have some cold nights to shiver through. This organic Jersey cotton bedding from Ecosophy (opens in new tab) is soft and snuggly yet also light. Made from long-staple cotton grown organically in the Aegean region of Turkey, it is knitted rather than woven, so it has a T-shirt like softness that is warmer than percale or sateen, and makes for a cosy slumber that will make you want to hit snoooooze.
SWEET DREAMS
We spend a third of our lives in bed, so a good night's sleep matters. Starting out 20 years ago with natural and organic mattresses for baby beds, cots and cribs, Naturalmat (opens in new tab) have developed a range of adult mattresses and beds made of the same natural materials.
Handmade in Devon from local wool and cotton, the mattresses are free from chemical fire-retardant treatment, yet still compliant with regulations due to natural properties in the wool. A mattress made from natural materials also allows the body's temperature to regulate itself (as the wool on a sheep’s back would) which leads to better rest. Zzzz.
CHECK MATE
This eye-catching rug is part of a new Organic collection from Toulemonde Bochart (opens in new tab)consisting of three fresh designs, Tartan (shown below), Eden and Arum. Made from wool using non-intensive methods, the threads are dyed with vegetable and mineral pigments, and woven into a mix of bold geometric and botanical patterns. Voila!
WAFFLE ON
These super-soft Big Waffle (opens in new tab) towels are made from organic cotton and come in six gorgeous colours: navy, sky blue, pale rose, clay, white and dark grey. The textured finish makes them extra absorbent and cosy, so it feels like you're being wrapped in a blanket. They have a cute hanging loop too, so they look great in the bathroom.
CLEAN AND SERENE
These gentle yet effective cleaning products at Daylesford (opens in new tab) are free from harsh petrochemicals, not tested on animals and made with biodegradable natural ingredients - and it goes without saying beautifully packaged (in recyclable bottles). So they're suitable for those with sensitive skin and better for our homes, health and the earth. Bring on the spring clean.
SELF CARE
Daylesford also has a new Cosmos Organic (opens in new tab) hand care range, which consists of hand wash, hand lotion and hand balm, all rich in botanic extracts. Made in the UK, with orange, geranium and rosemary fragrances they have a wonderful scent and nourishing properties which sooth the skin. Bliss.
