First glimpse of the new Deirdre Dyson Paper and Stone rug collection
Deirdre Dyson's new collection is a show-stopping selection of beautiful artworks for the floor

By Livingetc
Lady Deirdre Dyson's rug brand has long been a go-to for Livingetc stylists looking for vast, bold and beautiful floor coverings - in fact, we can reveal exclusively there is even one on our cover of the March issue, out at the start of February.
But you don't have to wait until then to see the new range, titled Paper and Stone, as we have the first pictures right here, ready to go on your home decor ideas moodboard.

There is a real sense of life and movement to Lady Deirdre's designs, a shimmer and a sense of animation that comes from clever uses of colour and material. They feel energising.
"I wandered onto the brand's stand at the end of a long day looking at new product at last year's Maison et Objet show in Paris," says Livingetc's editor Pip McCormac. "If I'm honest, I was a little weary, but these huge rugs in their vivid tones that contrast so perfectly with the neutral shades in Deirdre's designs really pepped me up. They were like a tonic for the soul, cheerful and soothing and elevating all at the same time."

Deirdre’s is as much a fine artist as she is a rug maker, using wool and silk to great effect. "It’s fascinating to me how a two dimensional surface can be transformed into three dimensions just by using the same colour in many different tones," Deirdre says. "For this collection, I set myself a challenge, not only to find seven ideas on the subject of paper that demonstrate its different uses, but also to create a three dimensional image using wool and silk instead of paint.”
