It's no secret that Michelle and Barack Obama enjoy spending down time at Martha's Vineyard.
Martha's Vineyard has been an annual holiday spot for the Obama family since their time in the White House, and now they're putting down roots in the gorgeous villa that they rented over the summer.
Although the quaint island has long been a vacation spot for politicians and celebrities, including former President Clinton and President Kennedy and their families, this marks the first time that a former president has bought property on the Island.
Rumours of the sale had been circulating since last summer, when the Obamas rented the property for several weeks.

Designed by Bradenburger Taylor Lombardo Architects in San Francisco, the property was built in 2001 by John Early, a well-known Island contractor.
The house has been on the market since 2015, when it was listed for £17.3 million. The price dropped twice last summer, first to £12.5 million in June, then to £11.4 million in July.
The property was eventually sold for £9.2 millionto a trust. James F. Reynolds, a longtime friend of Barack Obama.
