Watch House Tours Open Door... with Joao Botehlo
Join Casa Botelho founder Joao as he takes us on a tour of his elegant London home
By Amy Cutmore
Welcome to our latest House Tours Open Door –a new virtual event that takes you inside the homes of some of the world's best creatives. Our guest this week is Joao Botelho, a Brazilian-born interior designer who is passionate about luxury.
Joao joins us from his east London home, a glimmering trove of immaculate details and a factory of ideas. Speaking with our Editorial Director, Sarah Spiteri, Joao tells the stories behind his most treasured pieces.
AT HOME WITH JOAO BOTELHO
Style-setter Joao worked at global brands Nicole Farhi, Jasper Conran and Donna Karen, before moving into design and launching Casa Botelho, his interiors business.
Livingetc first met Joao back in 2016, to photograph the home you can see in the video above. It was this very project that sparked his desire to enter the design industry.

During the renovation, in collaboration with his architects, he crafted many of the bespoke details, including the kitchen, walk-in wardrobe, and much of the furniture.
Since then, Joao has launched 17 collections, and his brand has become a staple of the high-end furniture circuit.
'Bespoke furniture shouldn't exist only in one's dreams. Rather, it should be accessible for every person that loves and respects quality timeless design' – Joao Botelho
