Live 'La Dolce Vita' at The Berkeley Rooftop Garden and Pool
By Jacky Parker
This summer will see a little bit of Italy arrive in the capital as The Berkeley, Belgravia’s landmark hotel, creates ‘La Dolce Vita’, with a lemon tree lined Italian haven on its roof.
The hotel’s secluded garden and swimming pool will channel the sights, tastes, charm and, of course, ‘amore’ of the Amalfi coast including Aperitivo hour complete with Bellinis, Aperol Spritz and Negronis.
Sunseekers can visit the rooftop – usually reserved for hotel guests – for a swim; a spot of sunbathing; a bite to eat from a classic Italian menu or experience an indulgent Dolce Vita spa treatment.
The instagrammable retreat is inspired by some of Italy’s legendary hotels from Il Pellicano to La Sirenuse, and will provide a dreamy setting to enjoy the sunshine away from the hustle and bustle of the capital's busy streets below.
Instead you can lie back on citrus yellow and white striped sun beds, surrounded by lemon and olive trees, and feast poolside on fritto misto, tricolore salad, pizzetta and arancini, finished off with a refreshing gelato or limoncello sorbet.
Find cool ideas for your ownoutdoor living space here.
As Aperitivo hour approaches, and the sun goes down, the pool and garden will be filled with the aroma and flickers of candles from the ‘elegante’ Italian house of Acqua di Parma.
La Dolce Vita at The Berkeley launches on 1st June, 2019 and will be open every day to hotel guests and visitors alike until September, 2019.
Access is subject to availability and must be pre-booked in advance.
There are two package options; four hour access to La Dolce Vita (the rooftop garden and pool, sauna and steam room) including a glass of Aperol Spritz is priced at £75 per person.
