TRENDING: THIS MONTH’S MOST POPULAR INSTAGRAM POSTS

The interior inspiration that's got you tapping..

This year has started as a game of two halves, with your favourite instagram posts veering from pure and simple, clean white schemes to those with opulent overtures and decadent drama.

Maybe it’s a yearning for calm after the storm of Christmas chaos, but a stone-hued entrance hall, a monochrome bathroom and pale dining area were big vote winners. When it comes to decorating with white, it’s all about warm tones, texture and interesting details, from wood panelling and flagstone floors to painted brick and period features.

At the opposite end of the spectrum, the jewel-box of a home office below saw the most likes – along with sumptuous Art Deco style spaces and colourful cocoons.

Check them out here..

8. A TOUCH OF CLASS

There’s a charming old school classroom feel about this study, with its wooden floorboards and chalkboard wall, that is beautifully offset with the smart shutters and pretty chandelier.

9. PURE AND SIMPLE

Textured walls and warm timber tones in the form of Dinesen flooring and original Hans Wegner wishbone chairs, plus a Morso wood-burning stove prevent this white scheme from feeling cold.

10. ON THE TILES

These eye-catching floor tiles teamed with the heritage style basin and brassware take these simple metro tiles up a few notches.
