Look Again: 8 of the Best Seriously Sexy Sofas

Button detailing, fluting, sensuous curves – find the party at the back

Some homes – or parts of the home – call out for a sofa that’s less ‘snuggle up with the family and pets’, and more ‘lounge around decadently with a Dirty Martini’. It’s where more grown-up seating is required if you like; where you’re less concerned with loose covers that can go in the wash, and more concerned with what style of drinks trolley will work best with it.

This eye-catching sofa edit is definitely in the latter camp.

We’ve rounded up the sofas that have caught our attention recently, be it because of the colour, shape and style, as much as the refined detailing and sumptuous upholstery.

There’s beautiful buttoning, brushed brass trims and a rich colour combo with the boxy, teal blue, Maven from Amy Somerville. In stark contrast, it’s totally curvalicious contours at Made.com and Love Your Home, with the elegant Kooper and 2LG’s Tilda, both of which ooze femininity.

We loved the Fairmont at Barker and Stonehouse with its beautiful fluting, rich green velvet upholstery and Art Deco glamour at a high street price, while the stitched panels on the Loafer by Space Copenhagen, the Amédée at Lignet Roset and the Wandsworth at Swoon, all bring a smart tailored approach to lounging.

For all-out decadence – and for those not remotely concerned with spillages – the Parrot from Julian Chichester channels a luxuriously louche vibe that’s totally in-tune with Gatsby-style gatherings.
