We’re very excited to announce that our brand new Livingetc podcast, Home Truths, launches today! Available wherever you download your podcasts, each week one of the biggest names in design reveals the secrets, stories and fascinating insights behind their most famous career moments.
Hosted by Livingetc’s Executive Editor Pip McCormac, for the first episode he is joined by the award winning designer Lee Broom. Chatting about a career that spans nearly 15 years, Lee reveals how he went from designing chairs in his tiny flat in Oval with one other colleague, to heading up an international brand sold all over the world.

He talks about the thinking behind his groundbreaking Parquetry collection, his eye-catching show-stopping displays at Salone del Mobile in Milan, and the steps he took to grow his business into what it is today.
Not only is the conversation a way to peek behind the curtain at one of the UK’s most exciting brands, there are also entrepreneurial tips aplenty, and advice for how to make it in the industry.
It’s not hard to see why designer Lee Broom is seen as one of the great showmen of the design world. Having launched into interiors in 2007 with a collection of neon-lit chairs, Lee Broom has since showcased a grandfather clock handcrafted from marble and designed a gravity-defying hanging chair made with just two metal hoops (pictured above).
Stepping into Lee’s world feels a little like being Alice falling through the rabbit hole to Wonderland. One year his showroom, Electra House in Shoreditch, was famously transformed into a flower shop with thousands of fresh flowers surrounding new pieces displayed in glass cases and on marble plinths. And in Milan for his tenth anniversary in 2017, the all-white Time Machine collection was contrasted within a dank, derelict vault in the central train station.
Home Truths, sponsored by Heal’s, is an eight part podcast series, with a new episode ready to download each Monday. We have some huge stars lined up so stay tuned for more interiors inspiration and a glimpse into the thinking behind some of your favourite designs.
