Our 3 top picks from Graham & Green's outdoor collection

They include an in-demand chair that won't be hanging around for long...

It's inevitable that our gardens are coming under more scrutiny at the minute. Previously, we simply asked for a leafy spot to read a book or enjoy a relaxed Sunday brunch. If there were a few pretty plants scattered here and there, all the better.

Yet now they need to double as a full-on staycation retreat to rival your favourite Italian villa or exotic beach hideaway. It's not enough to have just one seating area – for a garden that wows, we are creating separate areas for dining, lounging, 'me time' and socialising. Cue a boom in demand for outdoor furniture.

The good news is that Graham & Green has just reopened for online delivery, and has some irresistible options in that department. But you might need to be quick of the mark to get certain lines, including our top three picks.

1. TASSEL SWING CHAIR

It’s our outdoor homewares that are flying off the shelf at the moment, in particular ournew tassel swing chairs,' explains Joanna Spindler, Graham & Green's marketing manager.

'We only launched them two weeks ago and already we’ve sold out of the Montpellier design (above), but we do still have stock of the Valencia (below).'

Handcrafted in El Salvador from upcycled cotton and pine wood, both chairs are fitted with a deep-filled matching cushion. Hang from the nearest tree and let the lazing begin.

2. ARDEN TABLE AND BENCH SET

Comprising smooth cement fibre tops and acacia wood frames, the Arden table and bench set is a strong contender in more ways than one. It should survive many a summer both in terms of its clean and contemporary looks and its hardwearing construction.

Each of the two size options – L180cm and L240cm – come with two benches and two stools. So even if you don't go big, you'll be able to fit at least eight around the table.

As the name suggests, the pinched pads are inspired by retro matchboxes – scatter a few on a low wall for extra seating in an instant.
