Deirdre Dyson used nothing more than a set square and a ruler to create her vibrant 2023 collection. The 10 new hand knotted carpets focus on the interplay of angles, linear shapes and colour.

‘These are statement pieces and art in their own right – they’re really the only thing you need in a room to make an impact,’ says Pip Rich.

Embracing the Japanese wood preservation of yakisugi, Woodworks’ Carbonised Collection – a range of burnt and weathered tones made from European larch – can be used for interior cladding and decorative surfaces as well as for floors.

‘Yakisugi is a stunning contemporary architectural finish used on the exterior of homes, and we were delighted by Woodworks’ efforts to bring it indoors, too,’ says Hugh Metcalf.

Inspired by the architectural features of the National Trust’s Victorian and Georgian properties, this luxury vinyl flooring collaboration with Amtico Décor is packed with geometric extravagance – and crucially, fits as well into contemporary properties as it does period ones.

‘We were impressed with the rich colour palette and versatility of these designs – they’re durable, elegant and statement-making without being too showy,’ says Ellen Finch.
