Curated Finds for Nadia | Planters
Hi Nadia,
Inspired by your brief, I’ve focused on floor planters with enough height and presence to sit comfortably next to your fridge, while keeping the opening close to the 34cm diameter you need. Because this will be quite a visible piece in the kitchen/dining area, I curated planters that are decorative in their own instead of purely functional. The three options take slightly different approaches — one cleaner and more architectural, one darker and more sculptural, and one with a little more personality.
Stylist Note:
For your space, I’d personally lean towards the Palma if you want the most balanced option overall. Its proportions are very close to what you asked for, and the taller shape should work really well beside the fridge without overwhelming the area. If you’d prefer something with a bit more drama, the graphite planter gives you a stronger Art Deco feel, while the LSA option is the one I’d choose if you want the planter itself to become more of a design feature.
This is the cleanest and most architectural option. The Opaque Bronze is a beautiful mid-century modern influence. At 35cm diameter x 70cm high, it’s very close to your requested opening size and has exactly the kind of vertical proportion I’d look for beside a tall fridge. Also, the simple cylindrical shape feels contemporary, while the warmer colour keeps it from looking too clinical in a kitchen/dining space.
This is the strongest choice if you want something with a little more drama. The darker graphite finish would work really well with the Art Deco and mid-century side of your brief, especially if there are already black, bronze or darker accents elsewhere in the room.
Because it’s so tall, I’d also use this one almost like a sculptural element rather than just a planter. Beside the fridge, that extra height should help the whole corner feel much more intentional.
This is the most design-led option of the three. I like it if you want the planter itself to bring some personality into the room rather than simply blending in.
At 75cm high, it has the vertical presence the area needs, and the more decorative finish gives it that slightly eclectic, collected feel that works nicely with both mid-century and Art Deco references! I’d choose this one if the kitchen itself is relatively clean-lined and you want the planter to be the more expressive piece.
