Inspired by your brief, I’ve curated a selection of dark wood cots that will sit beautifully within a traditional, modern farmhouse or coastal scheme. I focused on timeless designs that convert into toddler beds, with warm timber tones and practical mattress options that will grow with your son.

Also, whether you’re refining the rest of his bedroom now or planning how it might evolve over time, our Style service can help bring the wider space together with a considered moodboard and tailored recommendations.

Meanwhile, I hope these options offer a little inspiration and help point you in the right direction!

Pottery Barn Kids

Elsie Convertible Crib

I selected this for its timeless spindle design, which sit beautifully between traditional and modern farmhouse. It also converts into a toddler bed, making it a practical long term choice. Please note that the toddler conversion kit and mattress are purchased separately.

Zara Home

Ash Wood Cot

This is a lovely option if you prefer a cleaner, more contemporary look. The simple ash wood frame feels calm and understated, making it easy to style with coastal or farmhouse-inspired interiors. It also features two mattress heights and sits comfortably within your budget.

Frannie & Rose

Heritage Vintage Cot + Toddler Rail

I was immediately drawn to this design for its classic spindle detailing and heirloom feel. The toddler rail makes the transition easier and it's available in both 60 × 120 cm and 70 × 140 cm mattress sizes, giving you flexibility depending on how long you'd like to use it.
