1 BEEM ME UP
Hot from the recent London Design Festival, the first two collections from BEEM has just landed exclusively at The Conran Shop.
They're a collaboration between Samuel Wilkinson – designer of the now-iconicPlumen 001low-energy bulb – and LED-lighting specialists Chris StimsonandBujar Shkodra, founders ofwell-lit ,who between them shared a desire to revolutionise lightbulb design.
The two collections, Smile and Curli, feature the latest soft-LED filament technology, enabling the calligraphic-inspired bulbs to emit bright, warm light for up to 25,000 hours.
2 MIXED MATERIALS
Designed in Finland by QUU Founder, Heli Mäkiranta, these pretty QUU pendants take their influence from the Nordic lakes and forests that surround her studio.
Featuring environmentally friendly natural materials and clean, organic shapes, QUU lights are created out of chunky, solid ash and delicate, light glass balls which results in these balanced beauties.
Each QUU light is unique and handmade by skilled craftsmen in Finland. The sustainably-sourced wood is turned into a perfect ball in a workshop and then carefully painted by hand. The glass balls are made from high-quality recycled glass and individually mouth-blown in a small family business.
3 COLOUR CODE
Known for its bold approach to colour, it's no surprise that the new Capsule collection of pendants by design powerhouse 2LG Studio, in collaboration with lighting luminaries, Cameron Design House, features just that - lots of bold colour.
The three designs - Alas, Keski (below) and Saldo (above) - are available in four finishes, flamingo pink, electric blue, tropical green and brushed brass.
The Alas pendant below suits a smaller space.
4 MULTIPLE CHOICE
British luxury brand, CTO Lighting’s latest launch, ARTES, is a series of graphic linear shapes crafted from solid brass and alabaster. Designed to hang as an elegant single light fitting, or as a cluster to create a striking lighting installation, it offers flexibility and adaptability, alongside its refined architectural style.
5 WARM GLOW
The Liila wall lights by new Scandinavian lighting brand Nuura at Viaduct were inspired by the warm summer sun.
The clear optic glass radiates light like the rays of the sun, while the opal white glass gives a soft, diffused light like a low winter sun.
Available in Nordic Gold or the new Light Silver.
