Maya Glantz
Maya Glantz is a Design Writer at Livingetc, where she focuses on home renovations, covering all things bathrooms and kitchens. Her interest in design was born from a passion for art history, and she has always been fascinated by the intersection of design and culture, and what trends and styles can reveal to us about society more broadly.
Maya studied History of Art at the University of Bristol, graduating with a first-class honours. During her undergraduate studies, she was particularly drawn to feminist readings of art history, and also developed an interest in architectural design, having spent time studying the works of Frank Lloyd Wright, Le Corbusier, and Zaha Hadid.
Growing up dedicated to the idea that she’d one day work for the magazines she spent her weekly pocket money on, she began her writing career at university, where she served as the deputy section editor of a local culture magazine. Maya then went on to obtain a Master's in Magazine Journalism from City University, where she specialised in lifestyle writing, and completed internships at various publications including SquareMeal, The Standard, and none other than Livingetc.
Even from a young age, Maya has always had an appreciation for good design. Spending much of her childhood following her design-obsessed mother around antique markets and design fairs, her stylistic tastes were formed early on. She has a particular penchant for all things mid-century, inspired by her studies on Frank Lloyd Wright, and believes you can never go wrong with wood and chrome.
A born-and-bred Londoner, she’s always keen to stay on top of the latest openings in the city, with an endless list of restaurants and galleries to check out. When she’s not stomping her way across the city, Maya is known to spend hours obsessing over new baking projects and will rarely show up to a function without a freshly made cake or sourdough loaf in tow.
