Maybe it's the Autumnal hue and 70s style but Habitat's Lantana is the lamp of the season.

Made and hand glazed in Portugal, the Lantana curvy ceramic orange lamp base at Habitat is flying off the shelves. So don’t miss out.

Lantana orange ceramic table lamp with black silk drum shade, £115, Habitat.

According to the furniture retailer, the substantial uplift in sales is thanks to instagram’s interior influencers styling it in their own homes and sharing it with their followers, who seem to be snapping it up in their droves.

Even with its air of ‘Abigail’s Party’ about it, this retro style lamp still looks at home in a modern interior – and the hot tangerine hue of the base looks as good teamed with a drum shade in black or white, so it’s versatile too.

Clare Griffin, Buyer for Lighting, at Habitat comments: “We’ve seen sales of ceramic lamp bases more than double in the last few months at Habitat, and ceramics are now our fastest growing material in the table lamp category.

Our designs Lantana, Dascia and Calla are now overtaking many of our iconic bestselling designs that have been our top sellers for years, and shows that customers are looking for more unusual shapes and finishes that make these lamps decorative objet in their own right and look just as good ‘on’ or ‘off’.”

AD. 70S STYLE // When we moved into our new abode, I always knew that the loft was destined to be my boudoir so when @bandq_uk got in touch and asked if I wanted to team up again for a rental makeover, you can bet I knew which room was first on my agenda. I’ve created a contemporary 70s-style scheme using colours from the GoodHome range, the Poprock Rustic Wood Effect Flooring (you literally peel & stick) and some soft textiles to bring it all together. Who knew you could get the perfect seventies style shaggy brown rug from your local B&Q?! Everything I’ve done here is completely renter-friendly (obviously ask your landlord first) and I’m SO incredibly happy with the result. Swipe across to see the full room in a little video I filmed and head to the blog for more photos. I’d love to know what you think and if you have any places for your own rented abode? #bandqit #myrentedabode

Clare continues, “Notably we’re the only people on the high street to have a statement ceramic range like this with a wide range of brave colour glazes applied to interesting, sculptural shapes, making quite a traditional material feel very modern and relevant.

The reactive glazes too – as with our dinnerware collections – are proving popular with customers as this means that each ceramic lamp base is completely unique, so for a high street price you are getting a one-off design for your home.”
