7 ways to bring Dulux's Tranquil Dawn into your home
By Jacky Parker
Selected by an expert panel of colour designers, trend forecasters, design specialists, architects and editors from around the world, thesoft green hue was thought to embody the nation’s mood on the approach of a new decade.
According to the panel, it reflects a growing desire to understand what it is to be human at a time when advances intechnologyare making us feel increasingly disconnected from each other.
Marianne Shillingford, Creative Director, Dulux UK, says: “A new decade heralds a new dawn and the hazy pale green tones of Tranquil Dawn™ are calming and comforting just when we need it most in our lives.
But if you don't fancy a decorator getting their dust sheets out and re-painting your home, there are plenty of other ways to bring the spirit of Tranquil Dawn in.
TOTALLY FLOORED
The watery palette of greens and blues in this Verona rug from Luke Irwin make for an ethereal abstract that's easy to work into an existing room scheme.
CUPBOARD LOVE
We can't guarantee it will calm your kids, but the Nikki wardrobe is part of a cool collection of children's bedroom furniture and has a hanging rail and storage drawer for neatly stashing their stuff.
IN THE SHADE
Designed by Swedish designers TAF Studio for Muuto, the Ambit Pendant Light is a simple piece that provides a warm presence even when it's off.
sink into style
The clean, square lines of this Charlie love seat are softened by the scooped arms and gentle colour, just what you need after a long day.
hot pot
This Terra.Cotto casserole pot from Sambonet is made from earthenware and stylishly crafted in cool colours, so it can be easily and elegantly transferred from oven to table.
under cover
Created in Portugal, these linen pillowcases and duvet cover are woven from the finest French flax and feel like five-star luxury against your skin. Plus, the relaxed finish means ironing isn’t required, so you can snuggle up as soon as you're ready.
laid back
Lie back in luxury on this soft velvet chaise and enjoy a cheeky siesta or curl up with a favourite novel.
