Who among us hasn't bookmarked design-led estate agency The Modern House? With its emphasis on beautiful homes, shot like the pages of Livingetc, it's become a place to dream away the hours with endless property porn.

But now it's lauching an offshoot, Inigo, with less of a focus on modern interior design, and instead looking at - still beautiful - historic homes.

Named after Inigo Jones - the self-taught draftsman, architect and painter, who by bringing Roman architecture from Italy to Britain in the early 17th century, started a revolution in design - Inigo will sell beautiful historic homes, as diverse as grand Victorian villas to humble workers' cottages, in cities, towns and villages across the UK.

Appraised by a panel of architectural experts, the properties offered on Inigo will have their history unlocked and will be presented with magazine quality photography for a discerning audience.

The Modern House revolutionised property purchasing for fans of modernist architecture, when it launched in 2005, establishing its reputation as the estate agent of choice for those who place great importance on design and good service.

Inigo is set to do the same for those looking for a historic home that's brimming with beautiful architectural features.

Fans of The Modern House will have noticed that over the years, more and more period homes have joined the listings of modernist architecture it was originally know for.

To now have an estate agency that will present period and historic homes in the same stylish and serene way is a welcome move.

Founders of The Modern House and Inigo, Matt Gibberd and Albert Hill say: “The Modern House was founded on the idea that good domestic design has a positive impact on our lives.

Principles like space, light, craftsmanship and a connection to nature have a timelessness that transcends any particular period, and we’re excited about exploring these themes in a wider context.

We both grew up in centuries-old houses, and have first-hand experience of the spatial and decorative quality of buildings from the Georgian era, in particular.

Inigo is a logical extension to what we’re already doing, with shared core values, a strong editorial point of view and a personal approach to service.

The market for period townhouses and village rectories is well-established, but we believe that there’s a requirement for a new estate agency with modern marketing methods and genuine brand integrity."

If you've already lost hours perusing the 'property porn' on The Modern House, expect to lose even more, when Inigo launches in Spring 2021.

Of course, you could also find your dream home...
