At 30-years-old, LA-based interior designer Jake Arnold, of Studio Jake Arnold, already has a roster of celebrity clients under his belt, with modern home design projects for John Legend and Chrissy Teigen, Rashida Jones, Sophia Bush and others.

He's even been named as one of Los Angeles Top 20 interior designers by The Hollywood Reporter.

We can't vouch for the 'sleb status of the owner of this gorgeous timber kitchen and bathroom design project, but we can vouch for its luxe yet laidback style.

KITCHEN

Jake's first priority to was to update the original 80s architectural details and make the kitchen feel more luxurious and laidback.

A warm 'griege' limestone flooring runs through the entire kitchen to the entrance.

Plain-sawn solid oak boards with character and knots were introduced alongside cabinetry with custom made panelled doors to add a layer of sophistication.

The worktops are beautiful mecchia stone which has a warm golden veining,  echoing the natural wood tones of the cabinets.

The kitchen leads to a covetable butlers pantry where Jake has mixed things up a bit.

For consistency he carried oak details into the pantry but introduced Farrow & Ball's gorgeous - and trending - paint colour, Treron for the cabinets, which not only works in tandem with the meccia stone but also creates a statement in and of itself.

Jake says, "Throughout the house, we used un-lacquered brass fixtures. This is a favourite of mine because of the way they patina over time. I think it adds a level of sophistication without sacrificing that relaxed, lived-in sensibility. Materiality and consistency are so critical for me and my designs because I think there's beauty and timelessness in repetition."

BATHROOM

When it came to the "her" bathroom, the client wanted it to feel light but warm, feminine and inviting. Jake opted for small 2x2 mosaic tiles that line the archway over the built-in tub. To bring in an element of refinement, he opted for Calacutta Vagli for the tub deck and Farrow & Ball's Elephants Breath for the tub panel and cabinets.

The same tones extend through to the dressing table and beauty area.

Jake wanted "his" bathroom to have a unique feel. By bringing in black brassware, as well as mont gris stone and herringbone tiles, he created something fresh and masculine, while still maintaining a sense of warmth.

The wood vanity and custom mirrors with integrated lighting were the perfect touches to ground the bathroom given the tall ceilings.

The oak creates consistency and cohesion throughout the house as it echoes the materials in the kitchen.
