Inspired by your brief, I’ve curated a personalised edit with rug and lighting options for your space. I have to say, you have such a beautiful home, it’s clear you really love design and have a great eye. The space already feels so well layered and personal, which I really love.
For the rugs, I’ve included a range of styles to give you a broader selection to explore. I did only find one option in a 300 x 400 cm size, but to be honest, I don’t think you necessarily need to go that large. I believe a 200 x 300 cm rug can work really well in your space too.
I’ve pulled together a selection of pieces that could work beautifully, depending on the direction you’d like to take and the overall feel you’re after.

Rugs for Office/Dining Room
I love this rug for its handwoven jute and cotton texture, and the pattern adds such a playful character to the room. I do feel like the space could take a bit more color, and this is a really beautiful starting point.
If you’re open to introducing pattern, this is a really unique option. The texture and color would add so much character to the room and create a more elevated, slightly dramatic feel. It’s definitely one of those pieces you either love or hate, but I believe it would make a strong statement.
I’m really loving the idea of introducing brown to ground the space, like you suggested with the Zara rug, and this would look amazing against your wood flooring. It would anchor the seating area beautifully, and feels like a great option if you want something visually quieter but still dynamic in the dining and office room.
This option feels very similar to the one you shared and is made from 100% jute. The handwoven flatweave design keeps it practical and easy to live with, especially at this thickness. It’s more of an investment piece, but one that will stay with you for years.
This is another investment rug I love, and it would bring so much warmth into the space. The mix of tones adds depth while still feeling easy to live with, making it a really versatile option for the room.
Pendant Lights
I completely understand why you love the Ingo Maurer Floatation, it’s actually one of my favorite lights as well. I’ve found four options that create a very similar soft, floating effect, but at a much more accessible price point.
Even though I really like the yellow pendant you currently have as it adds character, if you’re open to a light refresh, I think these options would work beautifully and bring a softer, more elevated feel to the room.
This option brings that same light, airy feel, with the linen softly diffusing the light and creating a calm atmosphere in the space.
This is probably the closest in feel, with that soft, sculptural look that almost disappears into the space while still making an impact.
This one adds a bit more texture and warmth, while still keeping that relaxed, suspended feel that works so well in your room.
This is another great option that gives a very similar soft, floating feel. I love how light and airy it looks, almost like it’s suspended in the space, which works beautifully since you’re drawn to that Ingo Maurer Floatation look.
Wall Light Finds
I really believe the VV Cinquanta Suspension is quite irreplaceable. It’s such a smart and practical design, and it’s hard to find anything that truly does the same job so well, especially in terms of directing light both onto the table and the wall.
I did come across a few similar options, but they felt more like copies, which I would generally avoid as I prefer not to support replicas of such iconic designs.
Instead, I think a better approach would be to complement your current lighting with either a wall light, or a floor lamp with a swivel arm. That way, you can achieve a similar layered effect and direct light where you need it, including towards the wall, while keeping the space feeling cohesive and well balanced.
I think this wall light is such a great option as an additional source of light, especially placed next to the sofa where it can create that layered, ambient effect you’re looking for. The swivel arm makes it really practical for everyday use, while the soft, diffused light keeps the atmosphere warm and inviting.
This is another favorite of mine, it’s such an iconic piece, and I love how the long arm creates that really dynamic, architectural feel in a space while still being incredibly functional.
