arflex was founded in Milan at the end of the 1940s by a group of engineers from Pirelli, who looked at new materials, like foam and elastic straps, for the furniture market, together with celebrated Italian designers. An historic Italian design brand that transformed upholstery design, it has produced some of the most recognisable furniture pieces, from Strips seating by Cini Boeri, which won the Compasso d’Oro award in 1979, and the Marenco sofa by Mario Marenco in 1970, right up to 2026's Càmila modular sofa by Claesson Koivisto Rune and Treboli family by Jaime Hayon.

In collaboration with furniture showroom Aram, arflex has brought its biggest-ever exhibition to London, featuring models which collectively represent the continuity between past and present, while retaining the brand's DNA that has set arflex apart in the wider market.

Whether you’re an interior designer looking to get hands-on with these designs before you specify them for your clients, a devotee of modern furniture design when it comes to your own home, or simply an interior design enthusiast, it’s a rare opportunity to get up close and personal, learn a little more about the almost-80-year evolution of arflex, and see its latest launches from its 2026 collection.

arflex has continued its spirit of research and innovation over the years, helping shape Italy's design history and developing countless iconic furniture pieces designed and produced in Italy, built to last.

arflex is, like many of the great Italian brands, a family-owned affair, helping keep true to its vision while innovating in new ways generation by generation. After all, that’s what arflex has always been about.

This partnership with Aram allows us to step inside the arflex world of storied design legacy, explore the generational evolution of the brand, learn about the designers involved in each of the iconic projects, and test the collection firsthand.

From its historical designs to the latest presentations at Milan Design Week, the exhibition offers a special taste of Italian design history that is founded on longevity, defining trends rather than following them.

This display of iconic Italian design is not here forever, though. The exhibition at London's Aram store at 110 Drury Lane, Covent Garden, is only open until January 2027, so catch it while you can.
