Take a house tour around this cool 3-bed house near Cape Town

Steven Pitt and his wife Faline Edwards built their three-bed home in South Africa from scratch.

The couple fell in love with the area - a valley of vineyards near Cape Town - before they'd even dreamed of having a home here. When they bought the land, it came with a tumbledown farmhouse, which they demolished. With the help of an architect, they came up with a modern house that would harmonise with the natural environment.

However, after a huge winter storm ruined the best part of a two-year build, they were forced to start over and reign in the budget.

Despite their difficulties, Steven and Faline put the final touches on the property in 2008. Thanks to floor-to-ceiling windows, the property is spacious and light; the spa-style bathroom is the ultimate in relaxation; and the kitchen-diner is the perfect space to entertain.
