Louise and Paul Venning moved from south London to the French Alps with their children Nuala and Kealan 4 years ago in search of a more relaxed pace of life.
Nestled under a blanket of snow, the 3-bed chalet boasts a surprisingly fresh interior, with whitewashed walls and modern
kitchen appliances.
But thanks to an abundance of sheep-skin rugs, underfloor
heating and a huge wood-burning stove, their home radiates a friendly warmth.
'It's not what you'd expect from an alpine chalet,' admits Louise. 'They're usually wall-to-wall pine, but wood soaks up the light and we didn't want to live in a dark home.'
