Restored country parsonage

Laura Campbell swaps a London townhouse for a 4-bed parsonage in Gloucester

Laura Campbell and her husband Adam swapped their Shepherd's Bush terrace for a country parsonage in Gloucester 5 years ago.

Having lived in London since their teens, they were keen to leave behind the buzz of the city and spend some time outdoors with their two young children.

'We had no time for restaurants, galleries and movies and longed to be able to open the door into a garden where Dan and Minna could play, rather than sitting in traffic for hours on the way to the park,' Laura explains.

When they stumbled upon this four-bed Gloucester parsonage, just 15 minutes from Bristol, they were hooked. With two acres of land, its own vineyard and twice the space of their London home, it was everything they could have wanted.

'It didn't need masses of work, but we installed a new kitchen with an island, updated the bathroom, replaced the radiators and decorated throughout,' Laura says.

'We managed to utilise every piece of furniture - plus the lights and curtains - from our old house, with just a few new additions.'
