Caribbean hideaway

Take a Caribbean island, a Danish architect and a couple with a love of colonial architecture and Chinese furniture and, somehow, this is what you get: a contemporary dream home that seamlessly fuses its influences to become much more than the sum of its parts. Owners Keld Mikkelsen and Marianne Brandi, the powerhouses behind Danish fashion and interiors brand Day Birger et Mikkelsen, spent two-and-a-half years building their Caribbean holiday hideaway, which can be described in the same way they talk about their company: it's 'modern', 'classic' and 'ethnic'.
