hi, I love the colours of your walls, and the see through lamp, lovely, it is nice that colour seems to be moving back into interiors after so many years of white, my house has been white all through for 10 years so it is great to look at rooms colour is working. i really like the sink in the loo too. lovely!

I love your home Olivia. The taupe you have used in your lounge (the photo with the fab Mimosa lampshade on the glass ball floor lamp) is lovely. Would you mind sharing what colour it is, as it looks like exactly what I want for my lounge. Love your shutters and all of your lamps are gorgeous. Well done.

Hi Olivia, I love your house too! And, I would like to know the colour in the living room as well. Another question, I really like the cupboard in the living room that you said you had designed - did you get a builder to do it for you? We are hoping to get something similar for our living room this year.

Hi amyoliver, thankyou for your kind words. This room was originally the playroom and I have just remodelled it as the children are now older. The colour on the walls is Old White by Farrow and Ball. It looks different at different times of the day as the light changes ! I can't decide whether that or Bone is my favourite F & B colour. I have used Bone in the 'grown-up' sitting room (first photo). Thanks, Olivia

Hi Annavall, The colour is Old White by Farrow and Ball. The cupboards have been built either side of the fireplace in the recesses. I drew a sketch and had a local builder make them. They were sprayed in the same colour as the walls. I wanted them to look as if they'd always been there! They hide a multitude of childrens things, so no excuse for 'bits' cluttering the room! Olivia

Hi Olivia When I opened this post I thought "I'm sure I recognise those shutters", then I realised it was only yesterday that I saw them, when we picked up the light! What a fantastic house, it is gorgeous - great to see some of the other rooms, great photo's too! I came home thinking about using colour on our walls, you inspired me! As someone who has always had white on my walls (accessorising with colour) I'm always worried about the 'right' colour, but I think I'm going to have to give it a go. Katie

Very impressive! I love the neutrals from Farrow and Ball and have used Bone and Hardwick White in our home aswell as the more adventurous shades like Green Smoke, French Grey and Lamp Room Grey.
I love your shutters and the cupboard doors, too - very elegant with smart contemporary touches. The cuckoo clock is gorgeous - is it a Pascal Tarabay?
Congratulations, it must be lovely to live there!

Thankyou! I've also used Hardwick white in the hall, French grey on my sons sleigh bed etc, etc!!! I do love those sludgy colours ! The cuckoo clock came from a fab local shop called Authentics, it sells Kartell pieces as well as LSA glass. You can find me there most saturdays !!! http://www.authentics.info/
I am planning to redo the kitchen, it was fitted nearly 9 years ago when we moved here, I can feel more Farrow and Ball sludgyness coming on!!!

Hi Olivia, just been told to look at your post by Babybellybulge, she thought it was very much my style! I have to say it is very much my style, if you havenīt already, have a look at my old apartment in Tunbridge Wells there are more than a few similarities! I love sludgy colours too I used Bone and Old White in that place and it has become addictive, although I have only just considered painting whole walls in it. I really like your kitchen, itīs a nice design but I do agree that you should get your brush out and paint it, it would give the whole scheme a much more cohesive look (I think anyway)!
As you love those colours you must look at Pigeon by Zoffany I think I have found the most stunning taupey grey ever..... I will post pics soon, (I have painted a chimney in my kitchen) but at the moment my techy partner is not here to assist!
I really like your sink where is it from if you donīt mind me asking?
I have moved into a new apartment in TW and have just had shutters fitted throughout (mainly to hide hideous 70īs windows that we couldnīt bring ourselves to replace) They look great I love the light and shadow they cast...
I think your home is beautiful and I always love interiors that combine old and new.... so much character well done itīs lovely!!!

It soooo reminds me of you, CJA! It was the first thing I thought of when I saw it. Obviously a mutual love of good taste...
