Where can I get really modern but not really expensive dining table?
      #78628 - 23/10/2009 13:07

Just about to have new ultra modern Slate grey kitchen fitted. Want to get hold of a black table and chairs, but preferably not glass also, not too expensive? Any ideas? Have searched tinterweb with no results?
Many thanks

These places have got some. Not sure what sort of budget your looking at though. Habitat has some table reduced.

Is this the type of chair you were after?

Don't know if you like second hand but i would buy something shabby chic and paint it in gloss black. Perhaps some additions like gold leaf edges or unusual legs.
Just a thought.

I agree. We have the extending version of this:

Like this, with these chairs:

They have recently brought out a range of Ercol furniture in black, but it costs a fortune to buy new. I would watch out for something like the items above, sand the whole lot down and stain them in satin or matte black. They would look FAB with a slate grey kitchen.

No, not yet Lindsay. The room it is to go in is a work in progress and the purchase of a table has to wait until I have got some built-in bookshelves sorted and done something with the flooring. I am always getting ahead of myself!
