Well here's my first attempt at upholstery (and my first attempt at putting a listing on here!!! - so please bear with me!) Everyone thought I was mad when I bought this old devil at a charity shop but after a lick of paint and a determined struggle with some yellow silk, I'm rather chuffed with the results!! Hope you like it!!

Hope you don't mind if I post pics on the forum:

The third one is a bitmap and doesn't seem to want to load...
I love what you've done! It's very classy looking. We do love a bit of grey on this forum - LOL! Congrats. Great job!

Its lovely - the colour combination is wonderful. You've made a really great job of it too, very professional. No way would you ever guess its a first time project! Was it difficult to get such a neat finish?

I am very impressed- Just to think a piece of outdated, second hand furniture could look so trendy! You've got a talent there! Looking forward to see your next transformation!

Elliotandtutu, I right clicked on the images in your blog, selected "copy image location" and then just pasted it onto the forum between the tags . It's just very basic HTML, I think, but I'm not sure why the bitmap didn't work as it has previously...
I forgot to say, BTW, that charcoal and yellow is my very favourite combination!!! I do like this transformation very much and no, you would NEVER suspect it was your first attempt at upholstery!

Wonderful job. I have always had a hankering for a telephone table, but my partner thinks they are too kitsch. But you have transformed it from kitsch to tasteful. I particularly like the lemon yellow cushion, it really lifts it all, and love the old style phone!

A richly-deserved winner, well done! I too am a big fan of that charcol/mustard colour combination, and it looks wonderful on your seat.

Wow!! I can't believe I won... Thankyou everyone!! The paint i used was Dulux Satinwood Night Jewels 4. It was one of the shades that has to be mixed. I'll have to get some other of my projects on the forum now... I've got the bug!!!

Wow! This looks amazing. I love your choice of colours, I am just about to paint my front door in dark grey. Do you mind me asking how you learned upholstery i.e book or course? I have been thinking about doing this for a while and you have just motivated me to start!

Hi Kate101
I literally just gave it a go. I haven't done upholstery before or read any books. I just carefully took off the old cover and used it as a template in the new fabric. I'm sure there'll be a more professional way to do it- but i just thought i'd give it a try.
I hope you give it a go.. Let me know how you get on.
