Any regulars to this forum will know i'm rather fond of rabbits, so when my niece brought little Rufus home from the rabbit rescue, I volunteered to make him a new home.

All the interior structure is made from pine (rabbits like to chew!), The outside from my left-over floor boards and walnut-veneered mdf.

it looks great lindsay, what a lot of work...I love your workspace! so will two rabbits be happy to share it or will they fight over who gets each floor?

Thanks sus. The new girlfriend arrived yesterday and apparently he's been humping her silly - despite having his tackle removed months ago! - so i'm guessing they'll be ok for sharing. I let one of mine investigate it and he was too much of a wuss to go upstairs. He did take a big bite out of one of the interior bars though. Rabbits!

That is lush! If I were a rabbit I'd want a pad like that. Nice one.

Really cool! I noticed that the front comes off easily, makes it a doodle to clean.

Maybe I should call it the hammer house of horror I hope the bunnies won't mind the little blood spatters on their 'stairs' - I did try to sand it off.

It's just brilliant, Lindsay! Would be proud to have that on show. Should show my sis; her stinky guinea pig hutches have a lot to answer for having seen this little gem! Well worth the effort!

Thanks all for your lovely comments.
Eames the trouble with GPs is that they poop everywhere so a plastic tray that you can stick in the bathtub is best for them - at least rabbits like to use a litter tray so are easier to keep clean.

I'm still giggling at Shagadelic! Wasn't that a band way in the 70's?

Lindsay, you are very talented. This is fantastic and I hope your niece was very appreciative! I couldn't even begin to come up with anything like that. I am very impressed. I think you deserve some Baileys - how are your hands? Any better?

Aw, thanks JB. I'd quite like to hug you!
My neice hasn't seen it yet - it's too big for a normal car so she's still coming up with a transport plan. I'm sure it will fit well into the space under the stairs in her living room though.
Baileys all gone now - i think it lasted a week! My hands are all sealed up too. Just some angry-looking red scars now. I'm already wondering what to make next though. My mind keeps wandering back to that lovely tree bookshelf I saw at 100% design last year.

Neecy just collected the bunny house. She loved it. Yay! Am so relieved.
Not sure it will make it back to hers in one piece though. I last saw it disappearing down the road half hanging out the back of a golf. Fingers crossed...
