We bought our house a couple of years ago. It is a typical Mancunian semi which needed quite a bit of work. We opened up the downstairs to allow much more light to come through and put in hardwood floors. The kitchen was moved into what was the dining room and we created a laundry room/ second loo. The backyard was landscaped to be virtually no maintenance.
It has taken a long two years to finish. What fast forwarded the reno the most was the arrival of our daughter.
Thanks for looking!

I'm loving the artwork in the first picture, could I have more details about it please?
Your house is wonderful and I love your low maintenance garden.

Fab. Love the clean backdrop, the monochrome pattern and unexpected splashes of colour (esp your funky orange ceiling). Also that you've kept it from appearing cluttered (a constant failing of mine!) Very, very nice.
PS where did you get that gorgeous black & white artwork in the living room?

thanks, lizd44. i can definately try to answer any question(s) about the artwork. anything specific?
the garden needed to be easy- although i love gardening, my allergies get the best of me. the bricks we used for the planter, were recycled from inside the fireplaces that i opened. so much nicer than new ones!

ceiling colour was decided upon our return from thailand, where there was no shortage of vibrant colours that seemed to sit quietly against dark woods. orange on the ceiling gives the room a really warm glow day or night. paint is flat, though.
as far as the clutter- we've got it! but my studio is in the house where the clutter lives...

I, too, think the artwork in the living room is lovely. The whole house has a very livable but stylish feel. Seeing all your beautiful things on show gives it a real shot of personality. Well done x

here are a few more pics of the garden and house. we initially wanted to install a wood burning stove into the main fireplace but decided to use it for extra kitchen storage. the hallway leads to the laundry room/ second washroom and is where the kitchen originally was.

I love what you have done, too, and I particularly envy you your sofa and kitchen table. And can I ask what your flooring is? We're in the market for some and I like the tones of that one...
