We have had a feature wall built in the middle of the garden a part of a contemporary make-over. On the wall is a 1.8m diameter acrylic circular mirror. When it was first fitted it looked amazing but the problem began when it started delaminating and also expanding in the heat so now the reflective image is distorted and it looks a mess. The supplier gave us a refund as he went back on the guarantee that the material is suitable for outdoor use. He said that no acrylic material is suitable for outdoor use on this scale. Does anyone have any ideas about what we could replace it with? I think glass would be too dangerous and too heavy to attach to the wall. Thanks

Could you use real glass and put an anti-shatter film over it?

Could you make a circular mosaic using mirror mosaic tiles stuck to the wall? It wouldn't give you an unbroken image like a full mirror, but would solve the problems of weight and danger of breakage and would send little beams of reflected light dancing around the garden.

Have you thought about polished chrome plated metal? Would be more durable that plastics.

I think a real glass mirror should be fine, try speaking to bespokemirrors.com about it.
