Hello!
I've been with my mother all morning at the hospital. Her leg has been playing up on and off for a while and she has seen the doc about it a few times, anyway it has been really swelling up this week so they sent her to the hospital yesterday and they thought it was a DVT so she had to have a huge injection in her stomach....Ewwwww! Anyway she had a scan this morning and it isn't a DVT thankfully, it is a cist at the back of her knee so it will have to be drained or removed. I HATE hospitals!!!

Griffo sorry to hear about your mother, shame they couldnt have found out before an injection in the stomach!!!!!! Hopefully they can sort it out and she will be back to tip top condition. Best Wishes to you as well, dont let it stress you too much, have you had the predicted rain yet as it is still blue all over here.

hi all, still blinkin hot here, gutted that Murray lost....what made it worse was bens mum cheering for roddick throughout !!! half an hour before she arrived yesterday I has hoovering the communal stairwell, while the dog decided to raid the bin in the kitchen...turned the entire bin out all over the kitchen and the hall....gggggrr, when I told him off he ran out of the flat, down the stairs and straight across the main road, it took me nearly an hour to track him down...he was on his way back home when I found him...so bloody fast that dog!! whatever he ate made him [****] horribly for the rest of the day! supper was a disaster but we all smiled bravely through it...can't even think what to feed her tonight, and apparently the rose is too dark....(wine not flower). well done on helping out at the school n_c, I know what you mean about drivers in posh cars...it is like they don't know what it is like to walk or ride a bike....

Serve her cocktails before dinner in the hope she she will be slaughtered I did a nice dinner the other week Lamb fillet marinaded with cumin, coriander, garlic and oil - then griddled and hot oven for 12 mins Served with yoghurt with chopped mint and garlic with paprika and a couscous made with a hot water (As normal) then olive oil, juice and zest of an orange, toasted crushed almonds, chopped mint, beetroot and feta cheese (leave in fridge for up to 3 days - gets better with age)

Uk and Mae that sounds lovely and I have just eaten!!!!! Its been overcast this morning but the sun is now out. I hope everyone is having a nice weekend, Griffo I hope your Ma is OK.
Susan just cook what you normally would but a bit more for her, I'm sure it will be tasty and that she wouldnt want you to get all stressed about it, and if she would then she doesnt deserve you to make an effort.LOL.

Hi everyone, hope you are all having a wonderful weekend. It's very hot again in London, so just trying to keep cool here for now.
Wondering if anyone has any good ideas on what 13 year old girls like these days? We need to buy our niece a birthday present and I really have no idea!

Great ideas on the presents, thanks very much!
On the topic of yummy food, I made some flapjacks yesterday with toasted sesame seeds in them - delicious! Unfortunately have polished most of them off already (not so good ).
Susan - sounds like you'll be having something delicious tonight!
