Children's wallpaper
      #71128 - 02/07/2009 09:05

Hi, I haven't posted here before but hoping you can help me. I'm about to decorate my daughter's bedroom. I'd like to include wallpaper and was originally thinking Cath Kidston but have now decided it's a bit too chintzy. Do you know any funky, not too babyish (she's two now but I want it to last) wallpapers? And they don't have to be pink!
I'm sure I saw something on here once - turquoisey blue with a repeated bird pattern - but I can't remember what it was!
Thank you very much!

Yes, the turquoise penguin one was from Isak:

Also, take a look at Mini Moderns - the Six of One design is nice:

And I think Miss Print's saplings design would work in a girl's room:

This site has loads of choice of wallpapers and sends out samples. Try Osborne & Little's Hothouse by Suzy Hoodless range (Foxglove and Rosabella are my favourites) or Best In Show (in Osborne & Little's Walk in the Park collection)

Isak - that's the one - must bookmark it. I love the penguins. And thanks very much for all the other recommendations - I'm going to have to make some decisions!

I've always thought that wall graphics are a great alternative to wallpaper, especially for a kids room. You can peel it off once you get bored of it and it's less labourous that applying wallpaper. You can see some here http://www.supernice.co.uk/product.php/229/14/daisy-restik

I think the collection from Sandberg is lovely too - available from the Scandinavian Design Center (which seems to hold a wide range of both designs and colourways) and Wallpaper Direct. I especially like the 'Kaspar' design with all the houses on it.
