Would appreciate your advice. I have a leanto/conservatory to my cottage it has a concrete floor which has been painted not sure what with by the previous owner(colour cream) it is now looking shabby. Would it be possible to go over the floor with ordinary matt emulsion mixed with a little pva the reason being I have two large pots in my shed and this will save me buying specific concrete floor paint. Many thanks Viv

You will be making more work for yourself! It will look terrible in no time. Invest in the proper paint!

Griffo is right I'm afraid!! It won't last very long and will not be hard-wearing at all. Unless it is a space which will not be used much or have much traffic, it will scuff and probably begin to peel. I'm afraid you should buy the proper paint

Yes you should - a 5 litre tin of floor paint from a good decorators merchants will do the trick - retails at around £20. Comes in a range of colours Johnstones is the most cost effective!

I would advice coating the floor with a coat of upva first to seal and make the floor paint you use more durable too.

We used concrete sealer by international paint followed by suitable floor paint and it's been absolutely fine. It has really high volatility, though highly recommend doing it on a fine morning with windows and doors open and nobody else about.
