Little guest bedroom
      #69566 - 08/06/2009 00:05

Here are some before and after pics of our v small guest bedroom - the beautiful terracotta feature wall and beam had to go and I fought back tears painting over the wood-effect paint on the floorboards and door. Stunning

I would have liked to replace the wardrobe doors but OH talked me out of it ... besides, they still had a hint of the wood-effect paint about them ...

That is really, really lovely. Love the green. I would have been tempted to paint the wardrobe doors too ..... Well done IH!

It looks really fresh, and I especially love the white wooden panelling and the little window. Well done you!

It looks lovely, very soothing and inspiring as I'm building up to tackling our (not very big) spare room. Is that good old Dulux trade white?

Go on, paint those wardrobe doors - you know you want to!

Thanks everyone for your comments! Houseenvy - yes it is old reliable Dulux Brilliant White - it goes with anything!

The wardrobe doors will have to wait their turn - I am still painting every inch of fake-tan-coloured pine in the house after a year and half since move-in!

This is a lovely spare room, very calm and relaxing, I agree that the green splashes add a lot.

AngelaDee - I bought the fish print in a store in Kyoto on a trip to Japan. I think it was somewhere like the Arts Centre but you can pick up Japanese wall scrolls on the internet - though I think the one I have is actually for an outside door to keep it shaded, its made from a canvassy-type material.

Very nice. I like the way that even though the bed is in a little nook it doesn't feel in any way cramped or dark. It just goes to show that you don't need masses and masses of space to have masses of style! Nice one.

Lovely little room - that green suitcase (?) is adorable - is it vintage?

Thanks Rhineblaze .. the little trunk isn't vintage, I bought it a few years ago in TK Maxx .. it was part of a set of three. I'm not sure of the make as there's no label but yeah its cute

Your whole space seems so inviting and natural - perfect for a guest. I really love the difference the wallpaper makes in your room. I can't convince my other half to go for wallpaper but it looks fab... maybe I'll just put some up someday!
