Kitchen Make- Over
      #68743 - 26/05/2009 12:02

After some water damage in my kitchen, a small tidy up job grew and grew and became a total overhaul of my dark and dull kitchen! The joiner who came to quote for the insurance work saw my humble plans on the kitchen table and offered to fit the kitchen as well....the result was fantastic and he and i are really happy with the results...especially when he only came to fix some plaster on the wall!

I'm not surprised you're both so chuffed with it. What a transformation. It looks both cool and cosy. You must love sipping your tea in there.

What green did you use on the walls. And what's the artworl to the right of the window?

Thank you so much! i love it, can't tear myself away from it...cooking, reading at the table...moving things around! Still need to get the floor done...can't make up my mind!
The colour on the walls is Dulux Putting Green. I figured i'd miss the green in the garden too much in the winter and so decided on a really grassy green to give me the feeling of summer in the dark winters! It's lovely in all lights, especially first thing in the morning, it's north facing so it's the only sunshine it gets! The artwork is some wrapping paper from a Mexican Art Exhibition at Glasgow School of Art...just framed it in a cheap frame from Ikea...did it years ago and it's been in every house since!

What a success - i love the colour on the walls, and your table too. It is such an improvement and looks like you have tons of space now. It feels like a really welcoming kitchen. You should put some more house pics up!

Oh wow! So much brighter! Is that a knappa lampshade from Ikea? Well done you.

Full of character, I really like what you've done.
Alot of kitchens look the same these days - including my own, which is white, white and white. You inspire me to use a bit more colour.
