My minimal flat....The Prequel....
      #68531 - 21/05/2009 08:56

Many of you have seen my flat before before but yesterday I at last found the pics we took when we first viewed it in May 2001 and when we moved in in July 2001!!!

See the original threads here....

http://www.livingetc.com/forums/showflat.php/Cat/0/Number/891/an/0/page/2#891

http://www.livingetc.com/forums/showflat.php/Cat/0/Number/845/an/0/page/3#845

http://www.livingetc.com/forums/showflat.php/Cat/0/Number/63241/an/0/page/1#63241

So here goes (sick bags are not supplied!)......

The sofas in the pics below were david's which he bought from DFS brfore we met!!!! They were actually more cerise in real life!!!
It took me over two years to talk him into getting rid of them...he loved them!!!!!!!
The wall behind the computer is the one we took down and the kitchen is beyond it. I thoroughly enjoyed smashing down the coving! David wanted to keep it!
Yes the wallpaper in the lounge is the one which imbedded with glitter!!!!!
The pink shagpile was sooooooo thick and all faded by the patio doors!
The dark area on the right of the first pic below is the hallway at the bottom of the stairs, it was so dark and gloomy and the walls just had to come down!
The wall behing the TV in the second pic below is the grey wall which now has the plasma on it.....

Hallway and then up the stairs to the landing.....

Bathroom which is now David's office (all the plumbing is hiiden away so it can be converted back easily) and the spare room....

The main bedroom complete with raised area for the bed!!!!
We tripped over it so many times when we were drunk! LOL! !
The en-suite had a lovely gold shower which was a death trap.....

The loft complete with yet more swirly artex on the ceiling and pink shagpile!....

I will update with more recent pics (including the loft which I am doing at the moment) soon.

I honestly think that it is THE worst 'before' set of photos that have ever been posted! I love that you didn't rip up the pink carpet straight away.....davids sofa fitted right in!!! what were the previous people thinking!!!
can't wait to see what you did to the place

Thank you for the compliment of it being the worst before pics ever susan! LOL!
We moved in on July 3rd and the carpet was up and the laminate down by the end of August!
The walls were stripped and painted white by August as well.
Oh and the coving was ripped down and the artex ceilings had been plastered over by then as well!
If you have a look at the four bigger pics with David's pink sofas on the last one with the dining table in it you can see the very first bit of work I did on the flat!
There is a bit of coving missing in the middle of the pic and a hammer on the table! LOL!

N_c....I don't think I have any pics of the kitchen when I changed the kitchen doors.
I made the doors using MDF and painted them grey.
I also painted the tiles white and covered up the vile tiled floor with a greyish flooring like the one I'm having in the loft.
I made over the kitchen in the September because I just couldn't live with it any longer!
Friends came to see the flat and they were horrified when I said I was ditching the farmhouse doors, they said it was french and very expensive (it was because I found the label inside one of the cupboards), the next day the doors were in the skip!
